Description
An 18th-century Neoclassical architectural or furniture design drawing on paper, depicting an elaborate console ensemble. The composition features a central table, flanking candelabra stands, and an ornate, tall mirror adorned with classical motifs including caryatids, swags, and a decorative crest. Inscribed in French at the top left, «Projet d’une table, console & glaces pour les Drawing Room et Salon» (Project for a table, console & mirrors for the Drawing Room and Salon), the drawing is further marked «Paris 1792» and bears a partially obscured architect’s signature at the bottom right. The artwork is presented in a multi-tiered gilded and dark-stained wooden frame under glass with a cream-colored mat.
Condition report:
The drawing exhibits minor age-consistent toning. The artwork, mat, and frame appear in good overall condition.
