Description
A vintage twin-arm wall sconce, likely 20th century, crafted from polished or lacquered brass in a traditional or Rococo Revival style. It features scrolling arms, decorative finials, and fluted candle cups. Currently fitted with two modern LED candle-style bulbs (one Philips, one EAC) and adorned with scalloped fabric shades with braided trim. Accompanied by a rectangular brass plaque inscribed ‘CAPABILITY BROWN’ in capital letters.
Condition report:
The sconce is in good overall condition. The brass exhibits a bright, reflective finish with minor surface dust and some patina visible in recessed areas, consistent with age and use. The modern bulbs and shades are present. The brass plaque displays a natural patina commensurate with age.
