Description

A traditional longcase clock, likely dating to the Georgian period, featuring a substantial oak case. The clock is designed with a classic arched hood, a full-length trunk door, and a plinth base. The brass dial, visible through a glass-fronted door, displays Roman hour numerals and Arabic minute numerals, along with a subsidiary seconds dial. The dial is embellished with elaborate foliate spandrels and prominently inscribed within an arched cartouche with the words «Rob. Harris Fordingbridge.» The open trunk door reveals a pendulum and weights suspended by a cord, indicating the presence of its internal mechanism.

Condition report:

The clock exhibits an aged patina consistent with an antique object. The wooden case shows typical signs of wear, minor surface scratches, and some small losses commensurate with its age. The brass dial has developed a natural patination. The glass is intact. The internal mechanism is present with pendulum and weights; however, its working order has not been tested and cannot be guaranteed. Overall, the clock appears in fair, stable condition.
