Description
A Baker Georgian Style Double Pedestal Sideboard, constructed from mahogany with contrasting lighter wood veneers, possibly burr walnut or amboyna, used for stringing and prominent oval panels on the pedestal doors. The design features a central curved section with a single drawer, flanked by two rectangular pedestals, each with a single drawer above a cabinet door, all adorned with classical-style brass hardware including ring pulls and escutcheons. Stylistically, it exhibits characteristics of the Neoclassical or Empire period.
Condition report:
Fair to good condition, showing age-appropriate wear including minor scratches and scuffs. There is a notable area of significant finish degradation, presenting as white clouding and surface damage, on the central curved desktop.
