Description
A framed bookplate engraving depicting the ‘Design of the Ceiling of Lady Bute’s Dressing Room’. The print is attributed to W. Adam, Architect, 1758, and Robert & William Adam, Architects, 1774, as indicated on the design. The intricate composition features a central square panel flanked by symmetrical oval and rectangular decorative elements, executed in a classical or neoclassical style, and includes a scale bar. The print is presented within a wide, gilded or gold-tone wooden frame with a decorative edge, behind a white mat and glass.
Condition report:
The print and frame are in good overall condition, showing no significant visible damage. Minor wear consistent with age may be present on the frame. An auction sticker \"ProAuction LOT 324\" is affixed to the lower left of the frame.
