Description
This ceiling-mounted chandelier, executed in the French Empire style, features a predominantly gilt metal or brass frame. It is characterized by a central frosted or opaline glass bowl diffuser, from which four upward-curving arms emanate. Each arm supports a faux candle-style electric light, complete with decorative bobeches. The design incorporates classical or neoclassical elements, including a fluted central stem, a sunburst-motif ceiling canopy, and a band around the glass bowl adorned with a relief pattern, possibly laurel or acanthus leaves. The fixture is suspended by a matching chain. A small, unreadable tag is visible hanging from the finial beneath the glass bowl.
Condition report:
Good condition, consistent with age and use. All four lights are illuminated and appear functional. No apparent significant damage observed. Minor surface wear and patination commensurate with age. Electrification should be checked by a qualified electrician prior to installation.
