Lot 602:
Description
A collection of furniture predominantly in Renaissance Revival and traditional styles. Comprising a large Renaissance Revival carved oak bed frame, featuring a headboard with paneling and intricate geometric and floral carving, including motifs suggestive of ‘Green Man’ designs, consistent with Jacobean or Elizabethan revival styles. The bed is dressed with a floral fabric canopy and includes a modern Vispring mattress. Accompanied by a pair of matching nightstands and a heavily carved dark wood blanket chest at the foot of the bed, echoing the geometric and floral motifs of the bed frame. Further pieces in this style include a substantial dark wood two-door cabinet and a chest of drawers, both heavily carved with paneling and fitted with traditional brass hardware.
Also included is a Georgian/Regency revival-style kneehole writing desk with multiple drawers and a splat-back chair with green upholstery. The living area items comprise a beige two-seater sofa, a pair of red wingback armchairs, and various wooden tables, including a drop-leaf table, an oval coffee table, and a pair of end tables. The collection is crafted primarily from dark woods, likely oak and mahogany-toned timbers, complemented by various upholstery fabrics.
