Description
A large, full-length oil on canvas portrait depicting Tsar Nicholas Romanov II (1868-1918), after the renowned Russian artist Ilya Repin. The subject is shown standing, with a beard and mustache, dressed in a dark military uniform adorned with gold braid and epaulets. He holds a dark military cap with red banding in his left hand. The figure is positioned within an interior setting featuring a draped table, a green carved chair, and a patterned rug. The painting exhibits visible brushstrokes characteristic of a late 19th or early 20th-century style. It is presented in an ornate, multi-tiered giltwood or gilded composite frame featuring carved foliate and scroll motifs.
