Description
An Art Nouveau style jewelry box attributed to Godinger Silver Art Co. The rectangular box is constructed of cast silver-plated metal featuring relief floral and foliate motifs throughout the lid and side panels. The exterior is accented with several small inset multi-colored paste stones. The box stands on four sinuous, integrated feet. The hinged lid opens to reveal an interior lined with blue and black velvet, with a small oval mirror mounted on the underside of the lid. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces.
Condition report:
The item exhibits overall tarnish and surface wear consistent with age and use. The silver plating shows some thinning in high-relief areas. The interior velvet lining shows minor accumulation of debris and light wear. The mirror is intact.
