Description
This decorative ceramic vase is constructed of earthenware with a reddish-orange terracotta interior. The vessel features a bulbous body and a fluted, ruffled rim. The exterior surface is decorated using a sgraffito technique, with incised geometric patterns including a Greek key motif and stepped designs, finished in dark brown and buff-colored stains. A central circular pictorial panel depicts a hand-painted blue parrot perched on a branch against a textured green and yellow background. The style and execution are consistent with contemporary Southwestern etched pottery, often associated with Navajo artisans. No maker marks or signatures are visible on the base or body.
