Description
A French Model 1886 Lebel Spike Bayonet and accompanying scabbard/frog assembly, comprising two items total. The bayonet features a cruciform steel spike blade and a steel crossguard with a prominent curved quillon. The grip section is constructed of brass. The crossguard is marked with the serial number 190867 and two circular proof stamps bearing the letter P. The accompanying scabbard is a narrow cylindrical metal housing, carried within a brown leather frog assembly. The leather frog is secured by period stitching and a metal buckle.
