Description
A collection of ten antique and vintage hardback books, primarily bound in colored cloth, dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The volumes feature various binding styles, including simple pink and olive green cloth, brightly illustrated pictorial covers (e.g., Settlers and Scouts by Herbert Strang), and one large volume with a maroon spine and corners titled Living London edited by G.R. Sims. Visible titles include Black Beauty by Anna Sewell, The Story of Gloucestershire by John Sawyer, and My Book of Best Stories from History. One blue volume is externally marked RATHGOWRY 1898. The collection is associated with a London County Council prize certificate awarded to Robert Garrett in November 1910 for General Progress and Attendance.
