Description
A hand-wrought copper or copper-toned metal relief plaque depicting a 1937 Cord 812 automobile in a streamlined, Art Deco-influenced style. The relief is mounted on a rectangular, darker, possibly steel or patinated metal backplate. The piece is set within a dark brown matte, likely leatherette, and enclosed by a simple wooden frame. The plaque is inscribed «CORD 812 1937» and bears the initials «R.H.» on the lower left. The reverse features a label stating «HAND WROUGHT BY Richard C. Hanscomb, 15 Moreton Place, London, S.W.1.»
