Description
A Kenner Star Wars Commemorative Edition II action figure set produced to mark the 1997 Hong Kong handover. The set contains three plastic action figures: Darth Vader with a red lightsaber and removable cape, Boba Fett with a sawed-off blaster rifle and jet pack, and a Stormtrooper with a blaster rifle and heavy infantry cannon. The items are presented in their original window box packaging which features graphics of the Hong Kong skyline along with the British Union Jack, the colonial Hong Kong flag, and the flag of the People’s Republic of China. The reverse of the box includes a commemorative message in English and Chinese regarding the transfer of sovereignty. Printed markings on the base include the Kenner logo and text identifying Hasbro International Inc. 1997 and Lucasfilm Ltd. 1997, with distribution credited to Hasbro Hong Kong Ltd., Yen Sheng Centre, Kwun Tong, Kowloon. A barcode numbered 5023117404283 and product number 69799.138 are present on the reverse.
