Description
A collection of UK philatelic material comprising multiple Royal Mail First Day Covers (FDCs) and souvenir sheets dating from 1980 to 1997. The collection includes various commemorative issues such as the 1989 Christmas Ely Cathedral set (SG 1463-1467), the 1990 Marine Timekeepers (SG 1530-1533), the 1991 Maps issue (SG 1554-1557), the 1992 Single European Market (SG 1633), the 1995 Shakespeare’s Globe (SG 1876-1880), the 1996 Olympics (SG 1927-1931), and the 1997 British Flowers issue (SG 1960-1964). Also present are souvenir sheets from the London 1980 International Stamp Exhibition. The covers are predominantly addressed to Bournemouth and are cancelled with pictorial commemorative postmarks or circular date stamps (CDS). The material is organised within several binders of varying colours (black, green, red, and yellow) and clear plastic archival sleeves, with additional loose stacks of covers.
