A Trio of Mid Century Modern Sommerso Glass Bud Vases
Description
A trio of mid-century modern glass bud vases, each constructed using the sommerso technique where layers of coloured glass are encased within thick clear glass. The collection includes two matching rectangular-tapered vases and one teardrop-shaped vase. The two rectangular vases feature a vibrant orange internal core submerged within a turquoise blue layer, all encased in a heavy, faceted clear glass body with a thick square-profile base. The third vase is a single tapered vessel with a deep cobalt blue core encased in a subtle charcoal or smoky-purple layer, set within a thick clear glass body with a rounded, teardrop-shaped base. All three pieces exhibit the sharp geometry and saturated colour palettes characteristic of mid-20th-century art glass. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the bodies or the underside of the bases.
