Lot 428:
Two Pieces of Clear Glassware Including a Comport and a Stemmed Cup
Description
This lot comprises two distinct pieces of hand-polished clear glassware. The first is a comport or shallow footed bowl, featuring a wide, flared rim and a slender stem terminating in a flat, circular foot. The second item is a stemmed cup or coupe with a rounded bowl and an incurved rim. This piece is distinguished by a thick, moulded stem with three horizontal rings sitting upon a stepped circular base. Both items are fashioned from high-clarity, colourless glass. Each piece bears a small, circular metallic foil label on the base or lower bowl; however, the text on these labels is not legible in the provided images and no maker’s name can be confirmed.
