Lot 655:
A Group of Cobalt Blue Glass Tablewares
Description
A collection of deep cobalt blue glass items featuring various functional forms. The group includes a globular rose bowl fitted with a removable silver-tone metal wire mesh flower frog, a small rounded lidded jar with a matching glass lid and knob finial, an open circular bowl with curved sides, and a stemmed glass vessel with a flared rim and circular foot. The pieces exhibit a uniform, intense blue colour throughout, likely achieved through the addition of cobalt salts during the glassmaking process. Each item is produced from translucent glass with smooth, rounded contours typical of mid-20th-century decorative glassware. There are no maker marks, signatures, or labels visible on any of the pieces.
