Description
A hand-wrought copper or copper-toned metal relief plaque depicting a 1937 Cord 812 automobile in a streamlined, Art Deco-influenced style. The relief is mounted on a rectangular, darker, possibly steel or patinated metal backplate. The piece is set within a dark brown matte, likely leatherette, and enclosed by a simple wooden frame. The plaque is inscribed « CORD 812 1937 » and bears the initials « R.H. » on the lower left. The reverse features a label stating « HAND WROUGHT BY Richard C. Hanscomb, 15 Moreton Place, London, S.W.1. »
