A modern collection comprising 49 individual souvenir and commemorative thimbles, housed within a dark reddish-brown wooden display cabinet. The thimbles are predominantly crafted from white ceramic or porcelain, each featuring a gold-painted rim and decorated with colorful imagery and text. Themes include numerous British place names such as ‘Lake District, ‘ ‘Peterborough Abbey, ‘ ‘Lyme Hall, ‘ ‘Congleton, ‘ ‘River Irt, ‘ ‘Windermere, ‘ ‘The National Trust, ‘ ‘The Cheshire, ‘ ‘Hooton Manor, Ulverston, ‘ and ‘Laurel & Hardy Museum Ulverston.’ One thimble specifically commemorates ‘The Golden Jubilee – To Celebrate 50 Years reign of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II 1952-2002,’ dating at least part of the collection to the early 21st century. The display cabinet features a hinged glass door and a brass-toned latch, designed to house such collectible objects.
