Description
A Victorian mantel clock featuring a pediment-top architectural case. The primary construction is from a dark, likely slate or black marble, accented by reddish-brown variegated marble panels flanking the circular dial. The dark case surfaces are adorned with delicate incised or painted gilt decorative motifs. The front of the clock presents a circular gilt brass bezel enclosing a white enamel or porcelain dial with black Roman numerals for the hours and an inner ring of smaller Arabic numerals. Gilt metal spade hands indicate the time.
