Description
An 18th-century oil painting on canvas attributed to Paul Sandby (c.1765), depicting ‘The south-east corner of Windsor Castle’. The picturesque landscape portrays the south-east corner of Windsor Castle nestled amidst a wooded park, with several strolling figures populating the foreground and middle ground. The painting is presented in an ornate, carved giltwood frame. A brass plaque affixed to the frame identifies the work as ‘The south-east corner of Windsor Castle By Paul Sandby c.1765 The Royal Collection © Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’.
