Description
A French Napoleon III ormolu mantel clock, third quarter 19th century. The ornate gilt bronze clock features a circular white dial with black Roman numerals for hours and Arabic numerals for minutes, housed within an elaborate, scrolling, and foliate-decorated frame. The sculptural base displays acanthus leaf motifs and rests on four scrolled feet. A partial serial or model number, ‘6329,’ is visible on the rear of the movement.
