Description
This lot comprises a kidney-shaped pedestal desk and an accompanying side chair. The desk, exhibiting a late Georgian or Regency influence, is crafted from mahogany and features a serpentine front with a central drawer flanked by two pedestals. Each pedestal contains four graduated drawers, totaling nine drawers, all fitted with decorative brass ring pulls and escutcheons. The desk rests on short turned feet. The accompanying side chair, in the Queen Anne / early Georgian style, is also crafted from mahogany and features cabriole legs terminating in claw-and-ball feet, a carved shell crest rail, and a pierced vase-form splat. The seat is upholstered in a contemporary cream-colored woven fabric. No identifying text or markings are visible on either piece.
