Luton Hoo - Bedrooms
Lot 1645:
Description
The lot comprises a dark reddish-brown wood writing desk and a coordinating armchair. The rectangular desk, constructed from mahogany, features a top with a slight overhang and three drawers, including a central larger drawer flanked by two smaller ones. Each drawer is fitted with decorative brass bail pulls. The desk stands on cabriole legs with carved knees terminating in pad feet, characteristic of the Chippendale style. The armchair, also of dark hardwood, presents a Regency aesthetic with a curved crest rail, possibly featuring light wood inlay, a carved central splat with a ‘bow’ motif, shaped armrests, and saber legs. The seat is upholstered with a light-colored woven fabric. No visible text or markings are apparent on either item.
Desk: 120cm (width) x 50cm (depth) x 75cm (height)
