Description
An oil painting after Martinus Nellius, depicting ‘Still Life with Quinces, Medlars and a Glass’. Executed in an Old Master or Baroque style, the still life composition features various fruits on a dark wooden ledge against a deep blue background. The arrangement includes a large yellow apple or quince, pomegranates (one partially open), medlars, nuts, and berries, some with attached green leaves. A distinctive feature is the reflection of a partially visible female figure below the ledge. The artwork is presented in a substantial, richly gilded carved wooden frame, adorned with classical motifs such as reeding, dentil-like patterns, and a chevron border.
