Description
A French Louis style gilt bronze and crystal chandelier, dating to the 19th century. This substantial, multi-tiered chandelier features a central gilt brass or bronze framework with numerous scrolling arms and a prominent bottom finial, possibly a crystal ball. It is profusely adorned with various cut crystal elements, including pendalogues, faceted beads, and shaped prisms, cascading in swags and drops. The chandelier is fitted with multiple electric candle-form lights positioned on the arms.
Condition report:
Generally good condition. The metalwork exhibits a consistent patina commensurate with age. Crystal elements appear largely intact, though minor chips or losses to individual prisms or beads may be present consistent with use and age. Electrical components are untested and should be inspected by a qualified electrician prior to use.
