Description
A pair of French Louis XVI style five-light candelabras, circa 1870. Each features an ornate, dark patinated metal body, likely bronze, with traces of gilding on decorative elements such as the candle cups and leaf motifs. The design incorporates an urn-shaped standard adorned with foliate decoration, supported by a stepped base of variegated green marble, which rests on four scrolling patinated metal feet. No visible manufacturer’s markings are discernible.
Condition report:
The apparent condition is consistent with age, showing a rich patina, general wear, minor surface oxidization, and some small chips or losses to the edges of the marble bases.
