Description
A Safavieh Heritage Collection machine-made wool carpet, large and rectangular, in a classical revival style. The central field features an intricate, repeating pattern on a pale blue-green ground, incorporating scrolling acanthus leaves in cream and gold, interspersed with oval medallions containing pink and white floral bouquets, and smaller square motifs in burgundy and gold. A multi-layered border with coordinating floral scrollwork and thin red, white, and gold bands frames the central field. The reverse side reveals a tightly woven backing with visible machine stitching. Fragmented text visible on the backing includes « MADE IN », « 100% », « WUL », and « PILE », strongly indicating a « 100% WOOL PILE » composition.
Condition report:
The face of the carpet is in generally good condition, consistent with age and use. The reverse exhibits areas of brown staining or discoloration, indicating signs of age or wear.
