Description
An ornate rectangular wall mirror featuring a heavily carved and moulded frame, consistent with an Italian Rococo Revival style of the 20th century. The frame is extensively decorated with scrolling acanthus leaves, clusters of grapes or berries, and a central urn-like motif at the crest. The material appears to be giltwood or a gilded composition. A white sticker on the lower right frame clearly reads ‘Pro Auction ONLINE LOT 320’.
Condition report:
Generally good condition, showing expected signs of age and use. Minor losses and rubbing to the gilded surface are present, with areas where the reddish-brown bole is visible beneath the gilding due to wear.
