Description

This architectural engraving depicts the ‘Elevation of the East Front of Luton Park House, towards the Place’. The design is attributed to the renowned architect Robert Adam, with the engraving executed by Newton. The print bears the inscription « Published as the Act directs, June 1794, » indicating its late 18th-century origin. It is presented within a cream-colored mat and housed in a substantial, gilded wooden frame. An auction tag, ‘Pro Auction LOT 383’, is visible on the mat.

Condition report:

Good overall condition. The print appears clean with no obvious signs of significant foxing, tears, or creasing, though it has not been examined out of its frame. The cream-colored mat is clean. The substantial gilded wooden frame shows minor wear, including some surface abrasions and slight loss to the gilding, consistent with age and handling.
