Description
A George III mahogany serpentine fold-over card table. The polished hardwood top features a distinctive D-shaped or serpentine front, exhibiting a rich, reddish-brown hue and a high-gloss finish. The table is supported by four slender, tapered square legs. In its closed position, it functions as a console table, designed to open to reveal a playing surface, typically supported by a gate leg mechanism. A white sticker bearing « PPHGSAUCTIONS » and « LOT 36 » is affixed to the top surface.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. Minor surface wear, scratches, and abrasions consistent with age and use are visible, particularly in the high-gloss finish. No significant structural damage, breaks, or repairs are immediately apparent. The finish retains a good luster.
