Description
A vintage Minimodels Smoothflow Transformer-Rectifier Power Unit, often associated with early Scalextric sets. The electrical device features a blue-painted metal casing with a prominent red label detailing « OUTPUT 12 VOLT D.C. 2 AMPS, » « INPUT 200-240V. A.C., » and identifying the manufacturer as « MINIMODELS LTD. MADE IN ENGLAND. » It is equipped with two brass screw terminals marked ‘+’ and ‘-‘ and a « RESET BUTTON, » alongside an attached black electrical cord. Its accompanying heavily worn and torn cardboard box further specifies it as a « TRANSFORMER – RECTIFIER (incorporating overload cut-out) » from « MINIMODELS LIMITED, HAVANT, HANTS. » The original packaging bears a handwritten date of ‘2/3/60’.
