Description
This lot comprises a pair of framed vintage advertising prints, likely dating to the early 20th century. Each print is matted and housed under glass in a dark reddish-brown wooden frame with a gilded inner border. The left print advertises « SUNLIGHT SOAP, » depicting a young girl with a dog and baby animal, with visible text including « LEVER BROS. LTD. » and « PORT SUNLIGHT, ENGLAND, » along with « THE FAMILY WASH » and an obscured copyright date, possibly 1905 or 1908. The right print promotes « IVY SOAP » with the slogan « IT FLOATS, » featuring a baby in a bathtub with a dog, and is marked « Made only by GOODWIN’S MANCHESTER, » crediting « Picture by Fred Morgan R.I. » and bearing a « Copyright 1904 by Goodwin Bros. Manchester. »
