Lot 3:
Description
An assortment of handmade cobalt blue crystal commemorative items produced by Peter St Clair for Bristol Blue Glass. The collection is led by a large circular presentation plate intricately etched with a scene depicting the Concorde supersonic airliner flying over the Clifton Suspension Bridge. The plate bears the etched inscriptions Home to Bristol and 26th November 2003 to the left, and Concorde ~ 016 to the right, commemorating the historic final flight of the aircraft to its birthplace in Bristol. The group also features two circular glass paperweights, one etched with the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the other with the City of Bristol coat of arms. Further items include a circular glass piece with a helping hands motif in a red presentation box, and two circular medallions, one featuring a moulded design of a sailing ship, likely The Matthew. These medallions are housed in original black boxes gold-stamped with the mark Bristol Blue Handmade Crystal by Peter St Clair. All pieces are presented in their respective original boxes, including a large blue presentation case with a white satin-lined interior for the plate.
