Lot 492:
Description
The lot consists of a collection of five items: four dark, irregularly shaped rock or mineral fragments and one educational guide book. The four fragments are predominantly black and dark reddish-brown, exhibiting varied surface textures. The largest fragment displays distinct rippled flow marks suggestive of rapid cooling or ablation, a characteristic sometimes associated with fusion crusts on meteorites. The other three specimens are smoother or slightly granular. Based on visual characteristics and user-provided keywords, these specimens are offered as possibly meteorite fragments, though they lack official certification or laboratory testing results. Accompanying the specimens is a copy of the « ROCK & MINERAL » book from the Dorling Kindersley Eyewitness Guides series, published in association with The Natural History Museum.
