An Assortment of Glass and Crystal Bottle Stoppers
Description
A collection of glass and crystal bottle stoppers of varying forms and sizes. The group includes a large clear glass spherical stopper with a ground-glass shank; a clear crystal stopper featuring deep vertical mitre cuts and a faceted finial; and two smaller, matching clear glass stoppers with diamond-point faceting. Also included is an English green glass circular flat-topped stopper. This green component features a molded inscription around the top rim within a circular border. The readable characters include L, E, O, S and the word ENGLAND; the remaining parts of the inscription are obscured by reflections and the molding process. All pieces are constructed with tapered ground-glass shanks designed for a friction-fit seal in decanter or apothecary bottle necks.
