November Toys & Vintage Auction
Lot 438:
Description
An assortment of miniature hand-blown glass animal figurines, including six birds and a curled fox. The group features varied techniques including lampworking and furnace-blown glass with internal mottling, applied colour, and "oil-spot" surface effects.
Individual pieces include a bullfinch with a vibrant red breast, black head, and grey body; a slender swan in opaque white glass; a pedestal bird in translucent turquoise-blue glass; a standing bird with a black head and a yellow and black mottled body; a goose with an orange beak and white-and-grey textured body; and a small bird with grey, black, and white patterning. The collection is completed by a stylised figurine of a curled fox in translucent amber-brown glass with white detailing at the tail and face.
The opaque white swan bears a small rectangular silver and black adhesive label on its underside (photo 4); the text and logo are not clearly legible. The amber glass fox also bears a small rectangular grey label (photo 2), which is similarly illegible.
