A Collection of Eight Blue and White Glazed Ceramic Elephant Figurines
Description
A collection of eight miniature elephant figurines, presented in four graduated pairs. Each figurine is rendered in a seated or standing position with the trunk raised. The items are constructed from glazed ceramic, possibly porcelain, and feature hand-finished underglaze blue decoration. The decorative motifs include cross-hatched saddle blankets on the back, stylized floral patterns on the flanks and legs, and striped detailing on the trunks. Facial features, including eyes and mouths, are picked out in fine blue lines. No maker’s marks, factory stamps, or country-of-origin labels are visible on the sides of the pieces shown.
