Luton Hoo - Bedrooms
Lot 1371:
Description
A pair of framed Wedgwood Neoclassical lithographs, depicting classical urns with bas-relief figures. Each print features a two-handled lidded urn or vase, designed in the Wedgwood Jasperware style with white bas-relief figures on a muted green ground. One print is visibly marked ‘PLATE LX’ at the bottom center. The prints are presented under glass, matted in white, and set within substantial, gold-toned, possibly gilded, frames with ornate beaded inner edges. The design suggests influence from the San Donato collection of 1879 by C.H. Kreutzberger, known for its French lithographs of similar classical motifs.
