Description
This lot comprises a dark hardwood writing desk or console table paired with a coordinating side chair. The desk features a rectangular top, a central drawer with a reeded or veneered front and a brass pull, flanked by two side cupboards with panelled doors and brass drop handles. It is supported by tapered square legs ending in brass castors. The accompanying side chair, also in dark hardwood, exhibits a spindle back with a shaped top rail and an upholstered seat in a pink fabric with a small, light-colored dot pattern. The design elements of both pieces suggest an influence from late 18th to early 19th-century Regency or Sheraton styles, or period revivals.
