Description
A hand-carved mango wood headboard and canopy bed ensemble. The headboard, crafted from polished dark wood, features a serpentine top adorned with a central carved rosette medallion flanked by foliate scrolls, indicative of a Classical Revival or Regency style. Above, a coronet-style canopy is mounted, comprising a cylindrical floral chintz fabric element from which drapes descend. An outer layer of floral chintz, depicting roses on a light ground, is gathered by brass-toned tie-backs, while an inner layer of plain dark green fabric hangs behind the headboard. The ensemble is completed with a modern upholstered divan base in a light cream fabric, supporting contemporary white bedding.
