Luton Hoo - Bedrooms
Lot 2044:
Description
An English Regency Period mahogany cabinet, designed as a small, rectangular two-door console table. It is crafted from dark wood, likely mahogany, featuring prominently figured flame mahogany veneered panels on the two front doors. The cabinet stands on a molded plinth base and is adorned with carved acanthus leaf or scroll brackets flanking the doors, along with a fine beaded trim beneath the top surface. The top surface is currently protected by a fitted glass panel. When opened, the interior reveals two fixed shelves constructed from lighter, unfinished wood.
Condition report:
The cabinet shows signs of age and use consistent with its period. There is general surface wear and minor finish loss, particularly noticeable on the edges. The two front doors do not close perfectly flush. The protective glass top appears intact.
