Luton Hoo - Bedrooms
Lot 2130:
Description
A framed sepia-toned photographic portrait, likely a silver gelatin print, depicting a formally dressed man. The photograph is inscribed in the lower right corner with “Souvenir affectueux,” followed by a signature appearing to read “Arthur J. Dass” and the date “1912.” A fainter inscription or stamp on the lower left suggests “H. Baron Barnes,” possibly identifying the photographer. The print is presented within a cream-colored mat board and housed in an ornate gilded wooden frame featuring a beaded inner edge.
Condition report:
The photograph and frame appear to be in good overall condition, consistent with age. Significant reflections on the protective glazing obscure a detailed assessment of the print\'s surface, but no obvious damage is visible through the glare. The frame shows minor wear commensurate with its age.
