Description
A framed monochromatic print or drawing by Lionel Edwards (British, 1878-1966), titled ‘Brown Jack Finishing Up Hill, Training Gallop, The Bushes, Wroughton’, dated 1929. The artwork depicts two horses with jockeys mid-gallop on a hill, executed in a sketch-like equestrian style. The signature ‘Lionel Edwards ’29’ is discernable in the lower left, with additional handwritten annotations ‘1929’ in the upper left and ‘The Dashes, Wroughton’ in the upper right. The piece is presented under glass, matted in white, and housed within a wide, gilded, fluted wooden frame.
Condition report:
Appearing in good overall condition with minor wear consistent with its likely period from the late 1920s. The frame shows minor surface wear commensurate with age.
