Luton Hoo - Bedrooms
Lot 2256:
Description
An early 19th-century Neoclassical style serpentine-front console table, constructed from dark wood, likely mahogany. The table features a veneered top with a figured grain pattern and cross-banding. Its design includes a fluted frieze, tapered square-section legs with carved details at the top, and a single central drawer fitted with a simple pull. The overall aesthetic aligns with Federal or Hepplewhite styles, or a later revival.
Condition report:
Good antique condition, consistent with age and use. The finish on the tabletop shows visible wear, including scratches and hazing. The overall structure appears stable.
