Description
The lot comprises two items: a vintage fixed-blade fighting or utility knife and its accompanying brown leather sheath. The knife features a carbon steel blade with a double-edged or clip-point profile, constructed with a brass crossguard, a segmented dark handle, and a brass pommel cap. The handle material appears to be stacked leather or composite material. The blade is clearly stamped near the ricasso with the maker’s mark SOUTHERN & RICHARDSON SHEFFIELD ENGLAND surrounding a circular logo. This knife and sheath set is considered a collectors item due to its age and specific Sheffield manufacture. The accompanying sheath is dark brown leather, stitched along the edges and reinforced with seven visible metal rivets. It includes a leather retention strap secured by a metal snap closure.
