Description
A cased set of twenty-four Electro-Plated Nickel Silver (EPNS) fish knives and forks, comprising twelve knives and twelve three-tined forks. The set is presented in a dark-stained wooden case with a dark blue velvet interior. The cutlery features silver-colored metal blades and tines, adorned with decorative scrollwork on the bolsters and knife blades. The handles are made of a pale material exhibiting variations in cream, light yellow, and light pink tones, consistent with bone, ivory, or an early plastic. Visible markings include ‘EB NS’ stamped on the knife blades and ‘SECURE LEVER’ alongside ‘TRADE MARK’ on the brass-toned lock mechanism. Likely English work, circa 1900.
