Description
This collection consists of seven hand-painted miniature figures constructed from cast metal, likely lead or white metal. The figures are mounted on integrated circular and oval bases. The group primarily features military band and parade subjects. Included are three drummers in Scottish Highland dress wearing feather bonnets and kilts. Other figures include a bugler in a red and orange uniform, a rifleman in a black and yellow uniform, and two parade figures: one carrying a large yellow and pink parasol and another in a multi-colored feathered costume. The figures are produced in the style of traditional toy soldier manufacturers such as Britains Ltd. No manufacturer marks are visible on the bases or bodies.
Condition report:
The figures are in used, vintage condition. There is significant and widespread paint chipping, wear, and loss across all items, revealing the underlying gray metal. Some figures show minor bending to thin components.
