Description
A vintage Minimodels Smoothflow Transformer-Rectifier Power Unit, often associated with early Scalextric sets. The electrical device features a blue-painted metal casing with a prominent red label detailing “OUTPUT 12 VOLT D.C. 2 AMPS, ” “INPUT 200-240V. A.C., ” and identifying the manufacturer as “MINIMODELS LTD. MADE IN ENGLAND.” It is equipped with two brass screw terminals marked ‘+’ and ‘-‘ and a “RESET BUTTON, ” alongside an attached black electrical cord. Its accompanying heavily worn and torn cardboard box further specifies it as a “TRANSFORMER – RECTIFIER (incorporating overload cut-out)” from “MINIMODELS LIMITED, HAVANT, HANTS.” The original packaging bears a handwritten date of ‘2/3/60’.
